ATF's [Automatic Transmission Fluids] possess similar low viscosities and very low pour points. This property allows
the "quality" ATF's to function over a wide range of ambient temperatures. The most important characteristics
of ATF are the perfomance attributes built into the fluid. This perfomance is defined by various manufactuers' specifications
as outlined below.
ATF's are used in transmissions of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, off-road trucks, mobile equipment, and in non-transmission
applications such as power steering, small hydraulic pumps and farm applications.
Passneger car and Truck builders are demanding longer drain intervals and in some cases fill-for-life capability. The
passenger car automatic transmissions are changing from 5 to 6 and 7 speed, inorder to improve performance, drivability
and fuel economy.
